Improved performance for server owners, allowing larger player numbers, larger bases, with less of a performance hit on the server. Much improved level design, both from experience and from improved tech over the last few years in this area. Improved LODs on 3D models (please, the trees in the distance looks like someone took a screenshot in 240p) THEY COULD FIX THE DAMN BUILDING SYSTEM FOR ONCE Improved poly-count on 3D models (there's been amazing strides in methods to include more detail on 3D models without having to physically model it, thus saving on performance and potentially even allowing you to show more models on screen at once). Improved hitboxes on 3D models (no more mysteriously being unable to hit that metal node right in front of your anky!) I think (hope) that Wildcard should've learned a ton from developing this game and I'd think they could do a better job a second time around.

Personally if they keep releaseing more content with ark, i dont think i would even care about an ark 2.Īrk is such a buggy mess, that I believe the only viable solution if we want a somewhat lag free, bug free experience, is to start over from scratch and re-do it properly this time. Barrier to entry wouldn't be a problem either really, as you would just bundle some past expansion in with the base game. I feel like Ark is kind of like an MMO in a sense that it can receive expansion after expansion and keep going strong almost indefinitely as long as the content is good. Wildcard bottled lightning with this game, so personally i feel it is very unwise of them to cut support for ark and make ark 2. for every one successful game like ark there are 100s that flop. There is no way to deny it, ark started off strong when it released into EA in 2015, and has gained popularity over time where most games lose popularity over time.

With wildcards recent update about genesis part 2 and the teaser implying that it will be the last expansion ark receives, it seems like a good time to discuss if we need or should even want an ark 2.Īrk is a successful game. So, ark has been out for more than 5 years at this point and it's sure been a rollercoaster.
